The Rotary Club of Richmond is part of Rotary International, a worldwide network of people who come together through friendship, service and a shared commitment to making a difference. Rotary began in Chicago on 23 February 1905, when lawyer Paul Harris brought together a small group of professionals to exchange ideas and build friendships. From those beginnings, Rotary rapidly expanded around the world, with clubs established on six continents within just 16 years.

Today, Rotary connects around 1.2 million Rotary and Rotaract members across more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Its work ranges from strengthening local communities and supporting education to promoting peace, improving health, providing clean water, protecting the environment and the worldwide effort to eradicate polio. Richmond Rotary is part of this international tradition—taking action here in the Hawkesbury while also connecting our community to a global network of service.
