User-Led Organisations

User-led organisations are entities governed, managed, and driven by individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges or other health conditions. These organisations prioritise the voices and perspectives of those who have directly experienced the challenges and services being addressed. User-led organisations play a crucial role in advocacy, service development, and policymaking to ensure that mental health and other services are person-centred, recovery-oriented, and respectful of the rights and preferences of service users.

User-led organisations are initiatives designed and run by people with lived experience, placing those directly affected at the centre of decision-making, service delivery, and advocacy. They represent a bottom-up approach to systems change, where lived experience drives more responsive, empowering, and transformative support structures.
