Suicide and Self-Harm Advocacy
The BEING Suicide Support and Awareness Program was a Peer Support Group program co-designed by, with and for people living with mental health issues and suicidal crisis and/or thoughts across NSW. This was initially funded as a pilot program by NSW Health as part of the Towards Zero Suicides initiative.

Our Goals in Advocacy
Colorado Mental Wellness Network provide advocacy training so that peers can more effectively advocate for themselves, a loved one, or the peer community as a whole. This advocacy is needed at policy-making tables, legislative hearings, in the media, and in their home communities.

The Lived Experience Hub highlights 14 organisations and their approaches to advocacy, ranging from telephone and information lines to coordinated campaigns aimed at influencing legislation and system reform. These efforts demonstrate the power of lived experience as a driver of change—transforming personal insight into collective action that shapes policy, challenges stigma, and improves mental health systems.
